Deep purple elderberries are a treasured folk remedy of European households, simmered into syrups, teas and cordials when the seasons change. Rich and fruity, they're a family favorite.
How to brew: 1 tbsp per cup of water. Simmer 20–30 minutes, strain and sweeten with honey. For syrup, simmer 1 cup berries in 3 cups water until reduced by half, then stir in honey.
