The soft inner bark of the red elm tree has long been a Native American and early American staple for soothing comfort. Steeped, it becomes smooth and gently mucilaginous.
How to brew: 1 tbsp per cup of water. Simmer 10–15 minutes, or steep in cool water for several hours, then strain.
Taste: mild, sweet, maple-like

Pairs with: marshmallow root, licorice, cinnamon
