Shatavari — 'she who possesses a hundred roots' — is Ayurveda's great nourishing tonic for women through every stage of life. Cooling and moistening, it is traditionally simmered in milk.
How to brew: 1 tsp per cup of water or milk. Simmer 10–15 minutes, strain, and sweeten with honey or a little raw sugar.
