Once dried, stinging nettle loses its sting and becomes one of the most nourishing, mineral-rich greens in the herbal pantry. Many herbalists brew it as a long overnight infusion for a deep green, broth-like tonic.
How to brew: 1–2 tbsp per cup of just-boiled water; steep 10–15 minutes. For a strong infusion, steep 1 oz in a quart of water for 4–8 hours.
Taste: green, earthy, spinach-like
Traditionally used for: everyday nourishment, seasonal comfort, vitality
Pairs with: peppermint, oat straw, raspberry leaf
