Naturally sweet — far sweeter than sugar — licorice root is the great harmonizer of herbal blends in both Ayurveda and Chinese tradition. A small amount softens bitter herbs and brings a warm, rounded sweetness to any cup.
How to brew: 1 tsp per cup of water. Simmer 10–15 minutes, or add a pinch to other tea blends.
